Johnsons celebrate 50 years together on Fourth of July

Robert and Dorothy Johnson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 4.

They plan a celebration on that date at the American Legion Post 82 in La Plata.

The couple wed at Sacred Heart Church in La Plata on July 4, 1959.

They have two children, Kyle and his wife, Rita and and Kyrese and her husband, Jeffrey.

The couple has three grandchildren, Zazel Mutombo and Marcus and Alyssa Johnson.

They are both natives of La Plata where they still reside.

They plan a week-long trip to the beach.
