Annmarie Garden Sculpture Park

and Arts Center — Work has begun on the public art project, "Nesting." Visitors can paint an egg that will go in one of several large nests around the sculpture park. "Wild Things" continues through Aug. 30. "Dog-fish," featuring abstract portraits of dogs by Mimi Little and fish platters and raku prints by Sarah Houde, continues through June 30. North Beach concert series — Bands will perform free concerts from 6:30-9:30 p.m. some Friday nights at the North Beach bandstand at Bay Avenue between Fifth and Third streets. The schedule includes John Luskey July 11 and Southern Maryland Swing Band Aug. 22.

Sharkfest! — Calvert Marine Museum will have "Sharkfest!" from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. July 11. The free event features the "SharkPoole" with Doug Poole, a hands-on experience that allows children and parents to be up-close and personal with members of the shark family, a press release states. Visitors will be also be able to touch the rough hide of a shark in the tank, have their photo taken inside the jaws of a shark skeleton and participate in various hands-on activities. Potomac Jazz and Seafood Festival — Three jazz groups will perform in this annual event from 4-10 p.m. July 11 at St. Clement's Island Museum. Performers include jazz/blues vocalist Ruby Hayes at 4 p.m., smooth jazz saxophonist Jaared at 6 p.m. and saxophonist Art Sherrod, Jr. at 8 p.m. Advance tickets are $50, children younger than 12 get in for free. Concert in the woods — Randy Barrett Trio will perform a bluegrass concert at 8 p.m. July 11 at Hard Bargain Farm. Upcoming concerts include a jazz and blues concert by Mac Walter, Wolf and Barbara Martin at 7 p.m. Aug. 23 and a contemporary folk concert by Grace Griffith and Lynn Hollyfield at 8 p.m. Sept. 12. Twilight Performance Series — The College of Southern Maryland's Twilight Performance Series begins July 14, 15 and 16 with the Baltimore-based Unity Reggae Band. Performances continue through July 30 with 6:30 p.m. performances Tuesdays at the Leonardtown campus, Wednesdays at the La Plata campus and Thursdays at the Prince Frederick campus. Night in the museum — If you ever wanted to spend a night in the museum, now is your chance, a Calvert Marine Museum press release states. Evening activities include a behind-the-scenes tour, a session in the paleontology prep lab and a scavenger hunt through the museum looking for hidden pictures in the murals. Check in at 7 p.m. July 24 and leave after breakfast July 25. Children must be older than 8. Fee is $35. Pre-registration is required. Governor's Cup — The 35th annual St. Mary's College Governor's Cup Yacht Race begins at 6 p.m. July 31 at the entrance to Annapolis Harbor and ends Aug. 1 on the shores of the college in St. Mary's City, where there will be awards and a party. The race is the oldest and longest overnight competition on the bay. Go to www.smcm.edu/govcup.

Little Big Town and Phil Vassar — The country acts will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 29 at St. Leonard Volunteer Fire, Rescue and EMS' Bayside Toyota Pavilion. Alan Jackson will perform Sept. 20.
