Jimmy and Cindy Robertson owners of Pancakes Plus in La Plata reopened the restaurant Friday after being closed for a week to do about $22,000 in repairs to the business after a woman ran her car into the building.

According to a Maryland State Police spokesman at the La Plata barrack, Lisa Charlene Montgomery, 47, of La Plata ran her 2004 Pontiac into the building at 11:40 p.m. July 24.

Jimmy Robertson said that the woman apparently turned onto U.S. 301, hit a curb in front of the restaurant and plowed into the building, damaging two bay windows and a cinder block back wall.

‘‘It was a total mess for awhile,” he said, adding that several tubs of sticky pancake mix went flying during the incident.

Montgomery was transported to Civista Medical Center in La Plata with injuries considered not life-threatening.

No one else was injured in the accident, according to police.
