Two Washington, D.C., men have been arrested and charged with shooting as many as six rounds in the direction of Charles County sheriff’s officers outside a Waldorf club on July 26, police reported.
No one was injured in the shooting, which happened as people were leaving a late-night dance at Thai Seafood and Grill, according to police.
At around 2:15 a.m., police officers in uniform, who were directing traffic in the club’s parking lot, noticed people running from the lot toward a nearby Arby’s, said Diane Richardson, sheriff’s office spokeswoman. As the officers checked to see what was causing the disturbance, someone fired shots in their direction, police said.
The shooters drove away in a green Audi Quattro with headlights turned off, according to Richardson.
The officers chased the car and stopped it near Homestead Commons in Waldorf, arresting its five occupants, police reported.
Officers found shell casings fired from a .45-caliber handgun in the club’s parking lot and a .45-caliber handgun along the route the car took, police reported.
Two of the occupants, Maurice Lorenzo Foreman, 17, and Stephon Snipe, 20, were charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of first-degree assault and reckless endangerment. Police are not identifying the suspected shooter, Richardson said. Foreman, who was charged as an adult, and Snipe were sent to the Charles County jail with no bond, according to police.
