Charles Wayne Turner, 87, of Charlotte Hall died July 28, 2008, at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home.
Mr. Turner was a control director for the Department of the Navy.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He belonged to Eutaw Forest Archery Club, NRA, was a World War II veteran in the U.S. Army Air Corps and a former prisoner of war.
Born May 5, 1921, in Waterloo, Iowa, he was the son of the late Charles Isaac Turner and the late Etta Sarah Turner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Mae Turner; brother, Carlton A. Turner; stepbrother, Harold Turner; and stepsister, Eva Turner.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Woodward and Ada Panciarelli; sons-in-law, Gregory Woodward and Dominic Panciarelli; and grandchildren, Heather, Kevin, Colleen and Elizabeth.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Aug. 22 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Plata. The Rev. Ronald Potts will officiate. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
