Mary Myrtle Goldsmith, 87, Brandywine

Mary Myrtle Goldsmith, 87, of Brandywine died of natural causes Aug. 3, 2008.

She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and pillar of the family.

Born March 21, 1921, in Prince George’s County, she was the daughter of the late Richard E. Whittington and the late Ida Mae Whittington.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Francis Goldsmith; and siblings, Joseph Melvin Whittington, Carl R. Whittington, Thomas Earl Whittington, Lucille Butler and Robert Lee Whittington.

She is survived by her children, Joan Mudd, Jean Turkus and Rick Goldsmith; grandchildren, Terri Tippett, Ernie Mudd and John Goldsmith; great-grandchildren, Jason Thompson, Nick Thompson and Allison Tippett; siblings, Anthony E. Whittington, James Kenneth Whittington, Paul Edward Whittington, Esther Mae Kelly, Doris Ann Hyde and Dolores Marie Schuchart.

Visitation was held Aug. 5 at Huntt Funeral Home, Waldorf. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 6 at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton.

Arrangements are being handled by Huntt Funeral Home.
