High school prepsoccer camp
A high school soccer prep camp will be held Aug. 9 to 13. This event is open to all high school players, including incoming freshmen. Registration is limited to 75 players. CCPR field hockey

The Calverton School coaching vacancies
The Calverton School is looking for coaches in the following sports: varsity field hockey, varsity boys basketball, varsity girls basketball, junior varsity boys soccer and middle school basketball and boys and girls lacrosse. Fall season begins mid-August and spring season begins early March.

Blues softball clinics
The Bayside Blues fastpitch softball organization is sponsoring free softball clinics from 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 9 and 16 at Northern High. The clinics are open to girls ages 7 to 14. Aug. 9 will focus on pitching and hitting fundamentals while Aug. 16 will be on throwing and fielding mechanics.

Pax field hockey camp
The Panther Field hockey camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 10-13 at Patuxent High School. Players in grades four through high school are eligible. The fee is $75.

Ospreys tryouts
Tryouts for the Southern Maryland Ospreys will take place Aug. 10 and 17 at John Lancaster Park in Lexington Park.
10-U and 12-U tryouts will be from noon to 2 p.m., while 14-U, 16-U and 18-U tryouts will be from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Panther Path 5K
Patuxent High School will hold its annual Panther Path 5K beginning at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at the school. The event is open to the public. A clock will be running but no official time will be kept.

Huntingtown fallseason tryouts
Huntingtown High will hold tryouts for the fall season on the following dates and times: Football – 8 a.m. Aug. 16; boys soccer – Informational meeting at 4 p.m. Aug. 15 and tryouts from 8 to 10 a.m. and 4 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 16; girls soccer – players meeting 6:30 p.m. and tryouts from 7 to 9 a.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 16; field hockey – 7 a.m. Aug. 16; cross country – 2:30 p.m. Aug. 16; golf – 1 p.m. Aug. 16 at Mellomar Golf Park and at 3:45 p.m. Aug. 18 and 19; dance – 3 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 21; volleyball – 8 to 10:30 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 16.
Summer sailing camp
The Southern Maryland Sailing Association is offering week-long summer sailing camps from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday through Aug. 15.
The camps are open to sailors ages 8 through 18. Activities, including on-water instruction and on-land activities will be based at SMSA’s clubhouse on Solomons Harbor.
A special camp is designed for teenagers wishing to practice competitive dinghy racing being offered Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
Campers will learn basic sailing and boat handling skills, while more advanced kids will learn racing and performance techniques. All will learn about water and boating safety, boat preparation and seamanship
The fee is $250 to $265 per child per week with SMSA members receiving a $50 discount.
