Firefighter injured in house fire

Volunteer fire crews responded at a house fire at 3839 Greenwood Avenue in North Beach at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 6. and the fire was terminated in an hour and a half.
A firefighter was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital for minor lacerations to his finger, said Deputy Chief Joey Ortenzo.
The house, near 7th street, was occupied at the time, but the woman got out prior to firefighters’ arrival, he said.
Responders on the scene were North Beach and Dunkirk and Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Departments and Anne Arundel Fire Department company 42 out of Deale, Ortenzo said. The fire started in the attic and the investigation to determine its cause has been turned over the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
