Education workshops
Wednesday, Aug. 13 — Yes, You CAN use a Computer: ‘‘Computer Training — Using a Mouse.” Beginners who have never used a computer before can learn the basics of using a mouse from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Calvert Library Southern Branch (20 Appeal Way in Lusby), 410-326-5289.
Wednesday, Aug. 13 — Reinventing a Life: Workshop in Creative Memoir. Turn bits and bytes of a life into interesting non-fiction, short fiction or poetry. Registration requested but not required. Walk-ins welcome. The event will take place from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Calvert Library Prince Frederick, 410-535-0291 or 301-855-1862.

Thursday, Aug. 21 — Poets Corner: Join other poets in discussing their recent work and bring poetry along. Participants should bring six to eight copies of the piece that they would like to discuss, including their own poetry. The discussion will take place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Calvert Library Prince Frederick, 410-535-0291 or 301-855-1862.

Monday, Aug. 18 — Calvert Eats Local: Discuss ways to encourage local agriculture, to discover ways to eat locally, and to share resources, energy and good ideas. The event will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Calvert Library Prince Frederick, 410-535-0291 or 301-855-1862.

Book discussions
Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 13 and 14 — Tween Book Discussion: ‘‘Lunch Money” by Andrew Clements.
Space is limited. The first 15 families to register at each location must come in to the library to receive a free copy of ‘‘Lunch Money” provided by the Calvert County Literacy Council with support from Reading is Fundamental.
The tween and one adult family member are invited to attend.
