Seraia, Dunlap wed

Natalia Vladimirovna Seraia and Byron Thomas Dunlap were united in marriage on June 7, 2008, in Port Republic.

The Rev. John E. Howanstine Jr. officiated at the mid-afternoon, double-ring ceremony, held at historic Christ Church. An evening reception followed at parish hall.

The bride was escorted by Salvatore Campisi and given in marriage by her mother, Nina Seraia of Priozersk, Kazakhstan.

The groom is the grandson of Audrey D. Umpleby and the late Charles F. Umpleby of Annapolis, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John H. Dunlap of Fort Myers, Fla.

Jennifer Moore of Annapolis served the bride as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Jill Yamaner of Annapolis, Heather Hile of Solomons and Cassidy Sell of Annapolis served as junior bridesmaid.

Bradford Dunlap of Solomons, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen included Gregory Weigel of Denver, and Gregory Mergner of Mechanicsville. Ushers included Gavin MacPherson of Evansville, Ind., and Joseph Browning of Middletown, Conn.

The bride is a graduate of School No. 1 in Priozersk, Kazakhstan, Moscow State University in Russia; and, the Whiting School of Engineering at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. She works as a design engineer at the Annapolis, Maryland office of McCrone, Inc., a civil engineering firm, which is where the couple met in 2004.

The groom is a graduate of St. Mary’s Ryken High School in Leonardtown, and Purdue Engineering School in West Lafayette, Ind. He is a design engineer in the public works division at McCrone Inc.

The couple reside in Shady Side, after a honeymoon in Arizona and Nevada.
