Kappa charters new chapter in So. Md.Friday, Sept. 4, 2009
On July 11, Grand Board alumni member Anthony B. Hill and Eastern Province Polemarch John T. Lanier presented Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity members in St. Mary's and Calvert counties with a chapter charter for the Leonardtown-Prince Frederick Alumni Chapter. Keenon James will serve as the chapter's first polemarch. Following the charter ceremony, the new chapter hosted a lunch reception at the J.T. Daugherty Conference Center attended by more than 120 guests including fraternity members, local government representatives and civic groups. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. is an international organization founded on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., on Jan. 5, 1911. Since its inception, it has trained more than 125,000 men, particularly undergraduates, for leadership roles in their communities and the attainment of a high degree of excellence in their academic pursuits. The international headquarters is located in Philadelphia.
