Cathey graduates basic training Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Isaac D. Cathey graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills. He is the son of Sidney Cathey of Great Mills. Herbert finishes combat training Army Reserve Pvt. Latoya N. Herbert has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values and physical fitness. She also received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises. She is the daughter of Sylvia Lovett of California, and is a 2005 graduate of Great Mills High School. Harper completes program Air National Guard Airman 1st Class John W. Harper graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills. He is the son of Bertha Chase of Mechanicsville and is a 2005 graduate of Maurice J. McDonough High School in Pomfret. Gaspary graduates Micah J. Gaspary has graduated from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda. The graduate received a medical degree and was commissioned to the rank of lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, with a minimum seven-year active duty service commitment. The university is a tuition-free institution that manages a graduate nursing school, a graduate school with doctor of philosophy and master's degree programs, and a medical school that prepares men and women for careers as physicians in the military service. Gaspary is the son of Leonard E. and Pamela C. Gaspary of Ormond Beach, Fla. His wife, Katie, is the daughter of Robert and Ann Wilde of Leonardtown.
