The St. Mary Ryken Knights football team scored 33 points in only 39 minutes of play en route to a 33-7 victory on the road Saturday at John Paul the Great.
The game was called with nine minutes remaining in the final period due to weather conditions.
"We were clicking," Ryken head coach Bob Harmon said. "…We just had a heck of a day, but I really think our defense set everything up. We are really playing good defense."
The Knights, in fact, received one defensive touchdown when senior William Fejes recovered a fumble in the end zone.
Offensively, the Knights were led by junior running back Marlowe Wood. Wood finished with 121 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.
Quarterback Chris Rixey threw for 79 yards and a touchdown, completing eight of 16 passes. He also rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries.
"I feel like Marlowe and Chris had great days," Harmon added. "Both had over 100 yards rushing."
With the win, the Knights improve 3-4 overall on the season.
"We are definitely starting to cruise," Harmon said. "…Last year at this time, half of our team was hurt. And I believe that we are really healthy right now."
The Knights host Riverdale Baptist at Lancaster Park at 7 p.m. Friday.
