Gary S. Lusby, 69, of Oak Harbor, Wash., died Sept. 23, 2009, at Whidbey General Hospital due to complications from leukemia.
He was born Oct. 18, 1940, in Prince Frederick, the son of Guy A. Lusby and Virginia B. (Knott) Lusby.
He served in the U.S. Air Force as a jet mechanic. He loved to sing and play his guitar with a band back in Maryland. He loved to play and sing Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash music.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 41 years, Sandra J. (Millang) Lusby, who died June 26, 2006; and his sister-in-law, Margaret Lomax Lusby.
He is survived by his sons, Wade S. Lusby and his wife, Lisa, of Florida and Michael A. Lusby and his wife, Uthai, of Oak Harbor; his brother, Carroll Lusby Sr. of Solomons; four grandchildren; and other relatives.
His ashes will be scattered in the ocean during a private service.
Arrangements are being handled by Burley Funeral Chapel in Whidbey.
