William H. "Bill" Waidman Sr., of California, formerly of Forestville, died Oct. 27, 2009, at home.
He was an assistant storekeeper with the railroad. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Lexington Park and the 6th Marine Division Association.
Mr. Waidman was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran having served as a corporal from 1943-1946.
He was the son of the late Ruth Thelma Chaney Waidman.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife; and son, William H. Waidman Jr. who was killed in Vietnam.
He is survived by his son, Robert A. Waidman and his wife, Regina; daughters, Susan M. Martin and her husband, Davide and Patricia A. Moskaits and her husband, John; companion, Dorothy M. Padgett; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Nov. 2 at Lee Funeral Home, Clinton. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 3 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Lexington Park. The Rev. Jack Kenealy will officiate. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary's or Cancer Care Infusion Services at St. Mary's Hospital.
