The Northern High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee will be accepting nominations of athletes, coaches, and supporters for induction into the Northern hall of fame. Nominees must be out of high school five years (class of 2004 and earlier). All nominations can be submitted by going to www.calvertnet.k12.md.us/schools/nhs.html.

The deadline for nominations is Nov. 18.

Winter futsal league

A winter futsal league will begin play for teams and individuals in U-10 through U-19 Nov. 21 at Capital Clubhouse in Waldorf.

Kohl's American Cup

U.S. Youth Soccer's Kohl's American Cup will be held Nov. 21 at Chancellor's Run Regional Park in Great Mills. The tournament is a four-a-side format with a maximum roster of six players to a team in age groups from U-8 to U-19.

All teams are guaranteed four games.

Registration ends Oct. 31. The cost is $150.

U.S. Baseball Academy

The U.S. Baseball Academy will hold a pitcher and catcher camps from Jan. 3 to Feb. 7 at St. Mary's College of Maryland. The camp is open to players in ages 1 through 12.

The training sessions include six weeks of instruction for as low as $99. Registration deadlines are approximately six weeks before each session begins and spots are limited.

Falcons soccer

The Freestate Falcons, a U-12 girls soccer team, are looking to add two to three players, including a goalkeeper. Players born on or after Aug. 1, 1997 and before Aug. 1, 1999 are eligible. 

The Falcons compete in the WAGS and play three tournaments each season.
