Peter and Erica Strass of Accokeek announce the marriage of their daughter, Autumn Heather Strass, to Andrew Joseph Niggles, son of Dan and Laura Niggles of Newburg.

The wedding took place at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 25 on the lawn of Mount Airy Mansion in Upper Marlboro. The Rev. Matthew Johnson, a family friend and rector at Grace Episcopal Church in The Plains, Va., officiated. A reception was held inside the mansion.

A string trio and trumpet provided music for the ceremony. The bridal party processed to "Canon in D" and the bride and her father entered to "Jeremiah Clarke's Trumpet Voluntary (The Prince of Denmark's March.)" Flowers were a mix of ivory and pale pink roses, white hydrangea and gardenias.

The maid of honor was Summer Strass, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Katie Niggles, sister of the groom, Alexandra Miles, cousin of the bride and Heather Long, friend of the bride. Flower girl was Mackenzie Stevens, cousin of the bride.

Best man was Matthew Hirlinger, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Cliff Strass, brother of the bride, Matthew Scates, friend of the groom, and Jason Cote, friend of the groom.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of Maurice J. McDonough High School and a 2008 graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor of arts degree in advertising and public relations and a minor in business.

She is an associate specialist in corporate communications at the American College of Cardiology.

The groom is a 2004 graduate of McDonough and a 2008 graduate of the Smeal College of Business at Penn State with a bachelor of science degree in business economics.

He is now working on his master of business administration degree at the University of Maryland. He is a cost analyst with the U.S. Defense Department.

The couple honeymooned at Sandals Grade St. Lucian resort in St. Lucia, West Indies.The couple resides in Rockville.
