Army-Navy parade and pep rally coming in December to base

Patuxent River Naval Air Station's 10th annual Army-Navy parade and pep rally will be held Dec. 11 to celebrate the football contest between the Naval Academy Midshipmen and West Point's Black Knights.

This year's parade will begin at 3 p.m., starting at Building 409 at Pax River. It will head down Cedar Point Road, turn up Buse Road toward Naval Air Systems Command headquarters, turn left on Liljencrantz Road and proceed to the Flight Deck Lounge for a post-parade party. Contracts awarded

- The Boeing Co. of St. Louis received a $10 million order Oct. 19 for the procurement of 133 pieces of support equipment for the F/A-18 E/F squadron stand-ups at the Naval Strike Air Warfare Center in Fallon, Nev. and the Patuxent River Naval Test Pilot School. This effort will support the F/A-18 C/D transition to the F/A-18 E/F for the VFA-195 and VFA-86 squadrons.  Work will be performed in St. Louis and is expected to be completed in August 2011.

- Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. of Stratford, Conn., received a $16 million modification Oct. 21 to a previously awarded contract to exercise an option for the VH-3D/VH060N presidential helicopter special progressive aircraft rework. Work will be performed in Stratford, Conn., and is expected to be completed in September 2010.

- BAE Systems Applied Technologies Inc. of Rockville received a $29 million modification Oct. 28 to a previously awarded contract to exercise an option for approximately 420,000 hours of engineering and technical services in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division's Special Communications Requirements Division's Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence Communications-Electronics Program.  The work will be performed in St. Inigoes and is expected to be completed in October 2010.

- L-3 Services. of Mount Laurel, N.J., received a $7 million modification Oct. 30 to a previously awarded contract for additional engineering and technical services and supplies to produce and support telecommunication and related communication-electronic systems. Eighty percent of the work will be performed in Lexington Park and 20 percent in St. Inigoes. It is expected to be completed in January 2010.
