Edward Cleveland Rose, 72, of Mechanicsville, formerly of Suitland, died Nov. 2, 2009, at Georgetown University Hospital.
Born Jan. 9, 1937, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Clarence Marvin and Helen Mae Kemp Rose.
Mr. Rose worked in the vending industry as a route salesman. He was a member of Grace Chapel Ministries in Mechanicsville.
He enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins, Wednesday night dinners with his grandchildren, his dog, Prancer, RAW professional wrestling and his "adopted grandson," Max, the dog.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Rose; his children, Jim E. Rose and wife, Dawn, and Aileen M. Rose; his sisters, Sandra Hasty and Anne Rose; and two grandchildren, Brittany and Madelyn Rose.
The family will receive friends today, Nov. 6, from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall, where funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. The Rev. C.H. Snyder will officiate. Interment will follow at Washington National Cemetery.
