Geisert named player of the week
Andrew Geisert, a McDonough High School graduate from White Plains, was named Atlantic Central Football Conference special teams player of the week for the week ending Sept. 14 for his performance in a 24-17 to North Carolina Wesleyan College.
The senior punter pinned North Carolina Wesleyan inside its own 20-yard line twice and his three punts totaled 117 yards, with an average of 39 yards per kick. His longest punt of the day was 46 yards, leaving North Carolina Wesleyan to start on its own 4.
Geisert last received player of the week honors on Sept. 15, 2007, when he recorded six punts for a total of 209 yards, 34.8 yards per attempt, in Salisbury's 35-21 win over Christopher Newport.
His longest punt of that day was 50 yards.
Salisbury is currently 4-4 overall, 1-1 ACFC.
