Steven Vance "Steve" Standish, 39, of Great Mills died Nov. 4, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital, Leonardtown.
A lifelong resident of St. Mary's County, he graduated from Chopticon High School in 1988 and was an information technology specialist for Planned Systems International. He was an avid sports fan; whether watching, playing or coaching, he enjoyed it all, especially football, basketball, bowling and golf. He was a die-hard Washington Redskins fan, attending games and tailgating. He also enjoyed playing cards with his father and juggling multiple fantasy football teams.
Born April 24, 1970, in Leonardtown, he was the son of Earnest Vance Standish Jr. and Janet Evans Standish.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, David Standish of Upper Marlboro.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of memorial service at noon Nov. 7 at Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home chapel, Leonardtown. Inurnment will be private. The Rev. Verne Haskell will officiate.
