High praise: "Remarkable court awareness and a tremendous leader on and off the court. I love watching her play. She is only 5-5, but she gets the most out of her body. She was the heart and soul on Leonardtown volleyball. She is the only player that I have coached to play four years varsity." – Steve Correll, Leonardtown head coach

"She is just a great leader and a competitor on the court." – Deedra Earl, Great Mills head coach

Coach of the year

Steve Correll

Leonardtown (fourth season)

Resume: Correll led Leonardtown to a 13-3 (10-2 SMAC) record, and advanced to the 4A East region semifinal where it fell in four games to second-seeded Broadneck for the third straight season after a sweep over county rival and sixth-seeded Great Mills in the quarterfinals; also led the Raiders to a third-place finish in SMAC behind Calvert County powerhouses Huntingtown and SMAC and 3A South champion Northern

High praise: "I feel he is the best choice because of the strength of his program and there strong showing in regionals versus 4A competition. He has also shown great sportsmanship and fosters a sense of camaraderie between the coaches in the area." – Earl

"He is a good coach that always pushes us to our limits and he asks the players for their input, so he could help us improve. He makes practice very fun." – Peters
