Judy Marie Grantham, 68, Indian Head

Judy Marie Grantham, 68, of Indian Head died Nov. 12, 2009, at home.

She was a 1959 graduate of La Plata High School and a graduate of Charles County Community College. She was a longtime employee of Mark and Sandy Rothman at Best Western La Plata Inn. She loved yard sales and thrift shops and spending time with her family. She battled lung cancer for one year. She loved the holidays and getting together with Steve and Bonnie Grimes. She enjoyed her church membership. She was most proud of her children, family and her religion. She was fond of her pets, Muttley and Sissy.

Born Aug. 26, 1941, in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Aaron Sidney Grimes Sr. and the late Effie Mae Grimes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Daniel H. Grantham Sr.; brother, Butch Grimes and nephew, Andrew Grimes.

She is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Jeannie and Peewee Wenk, Raymond and Barbara Grimes, Ben and Dot Grimes, Bill and Kitty Grimes, Steve and Bonnie Grimes and Stacy and Starla Grimes; daughters, Dana Marie Robinson and Patsy Hancock; son, Daniel H. Grantham Sr.; daughter-in-law, Shelia Grantham; sons-in-law, Ray Thrift and Dan Hancock; grandchildren, Scooby Dew, Grace, Nikeya and Christy Grantham and Cali and Amanda Hancock; and loyal friends, Vera Otto, Neil and Peggy Binger, Bill and Peggy Sweatman, Melony McGhee and Alicia Hicks.

A service was held Nov. 17 at Indian Head United Methodist Church, Indian Head. Burial was private.

Pallbearers were Sidney Grimes, Raymond Grimes, Steve Grimes, Stacey Grimes, Brian Howe and Ray Thrift.

Arrangements were handled by Williams Funeral Home, Indian Head.
